Happy New Years!

I love New Years.  I also hate it.  I don't think I've ever had a boyfriend at New Years who lived close to me so we could go out and celebrate with friend.  I wrote to Santa asking for a husband this year.  I asked for a boyfriend last year and I got a boyfriend but as you all can tell, it didn't work out.  But anyways I have faith I'll meet Mr. Right sometime soon!

So onto New Years Do's and Don'ts!

As we all know New Years brings in so many festive parties.  It can range form a company party to a family or friends party.  There'll be TONS of food and TONS of booze!  What is a party without good food?  I mean that'd be the lamest party ever!!!  So if you are hosting a party, make sure you have lots of good food!  If you are invited to a party, eat before you go if you have a strict diet or allergy.  I found it is a DON'T to request certain foods to a party, unless you are super close to the host and are helping with the food.  Then you probably ca…

Merry Christmas!

This week there won't be any Yay or Nay products.  Instead I leave you all with this:

Merry Christmas Everyone!
I will be back hopefully in time for a few items for New Years.  The next blog will post on the 29th, even if it's not a regular blog of products I will at least post a few do's and don'ts of New Years Eve celebrations.  At the very least, wishing everyone a Happy New Year.
Enjoy your time with family and friends.  For those of you who won't be home for Christmas this year make it the best you can with your friends or co-workers.

And today's blog can't be without some sort of photo of my eyes or nails...  Merry Christmas Tree Nail Art!

My rendition of a Christmas tree painting on my nails!

Cheap products and a Few Pinterest Ideas

With Christmas season upon us, trying to buy stuff for the family is never easy.  I have built myself a budget to spend but this year is more difficult than last year.  My sister and her husband adopted a sweet little baby boy!  He's so cute that I just want to buy everything I see that he might like.  So for me to do any more blogs I finished up shopping for him, no more shopping for Munchkin...  And my budget for the rest of my family is where it always is.  I think I'll have to find creative ways to wrap their "gifts".  Gifts in our family are cash or gift cards.
So this week's blog is going to be all about being cheap!
Product #1 Wet N Wild Lipstick in Retro Pink Purchase:  Local Walmart Price:  $1.00 USD

Wet N' Wild lip sticks are very cheap, very pigmented and actually stay on your lips!  I was very impressed with this one in particular.  I haven't used Wet N' Wild products very much but this one really surprised me.  I have another lip stick …

Urban Decay Palettes and Hello Kitty Wild Thing Palette

If anyone remembers when I was looking for a dupe set of eye shadows for the Naked or Naked 2 palette will remember my review on this palette from Hard Candy Eye Shadow Palette Review:

In my nicest tone, I really really disliked this palette.  I was very disappointed in the colors and only liked two of the colors.  I didn't think I need a whole palette of colors that I didn't even care for.  This was not a good dupe for the Urban Decay Naked palettes.

I found a $100.00 USD gift card in my wallet from last Christmas.  I had been saving it for something else.  I finally went to Ulta and bought BOTH the Naked and Naked 2 palettes.  I am so glad I made that purchase!  I never thought I'd buy them on my own but the gift card really made the difference.  I just paid the rest of it with another gift card and the rest in cash.  I bought the white nail polish from China Glaze.  I am excited to use the palettes, I've only used them a couple of times.

As you can tell, they di…

O.P.I. Nail Varnish: James Bond Collection

I forgot to edit this blog entry and it uploaded.  I think in my delusion of Thanksgiving I thought I had already finished this entry.  Unfortunately I did not.  So here are the products of the week!  By the way I purchased all of these at my local Ulta store.

Product #1
Golden Eye
Price:  $8.50 USD

This nail polish is very glittery and very gold.  I like how gold it becomes when you add a second or third layer.  It is difficult to clean off but the color is amazing.  It really reminds me of the movie itself.  I am very impressed with the O.P.I. line and I think this color is good alone or with another polish.

Product #2 Casino Royal Price:  $8.50 USD

I loved both this color and Skyfall.  They look similar but this one is more of a wine color, Skyfall is more of a true red color.  I also used the matte nail polish on top of this to show the difference in colors.  I was very impressed with the matte polish because it made the color matte for a few days however it did get shiney during th…

Hello my beauty watchers!

I am so sorry I forgot to edit this weekend's blog update.  I totally forgot I hadn't finished it.  I have it set to post on Saturday mornings at midnight.  I got busy with work, Thanskgiving, Christmas and all the other things that happen in between.  I'll update those and also I have new news for the next blog!

I bought the Naked and Naked 2 palettes!  I am so excited to have these in my posession now.  I have waited a long time and am happy to say I will be testing these out soon.  I had tried to find a dupe for the palettes but nothing compares to the real thing!

I will be writing up a blog about some of the nail polishes I have been testing and have to say, buy the cheap ones, save your recept, and if you don't like them, buy the more expensive ones because they will be worth your money!

I hope all my American followers had a great Thanksgiving and got some great deals on Black Friday and Cyber Monday!

Until Saturday, stay beautiful!

Nail Polish Testing

Nail polish testing...

I usually don't paint my nails.  For the last few years I kept them fairly short.  Long nails kept getting in my way.  I usually would scratch myself or one of them breaks or snags so I clip them totally short.  I didn't have the patience to paint them because the polish would chip and I felt like it was a waste of time to do my nails.  Back in May of this year, I had smashed my finger in a door jam and the nail was bruised.

Here is the progression of the nail damage:

Day 1

A few weeks later...

Sometime in August or September

It hurt so bad I didn't know what to say.  All I could think of was "ow, this hurts".  I tried to soak my finger in icy water so it wouldn't swell up too bad.  Let's just say I was thankful I didn't need to get it drained.  I'm happy to say it healed up nicely and the rest of the nail is growing out.  I did that back in May and it FINALLY started to grow out in August or early September.  I was going …
